How is my blogging going?

I was having a conversation with a friend the other day and she was giving me a little bit of constructive criticism on my blog (she told me that a lot of the time, I have too many videos that she doesn't watch them and if she cannot see to the end of the post she doesn't not read it).

This is invaluable feedback, so I was just wondering what you guys enjoy about my blog? What annoys you about it? How could I make it better?

Jules, it’s the old problem of “you can’t please everyone”. Sometimes the video can be a bit too much but it always comes down to how much time I have. If I don’t have much time and there is a video then I will skip over it but if I have a bit of time and I think it will be good then I’ll watch it.

Frequency is a consideration as well. I really liked masahable to star with but considering the volume of blogs I now follow I get really turned off when I open up the reader to see 14 new posts from mashable!

I like it when you post questions. Mainly because it ignites some sort of thinking. But I also enjoy your more creative posts that don't have to be all "serious" and "socially relevant".

Shits me when people dont get that either.

Yeah... agreed about the frequency. Any more posts /week and it might feel contrived. This way (if nothing else it feels like) it has honest substance and not just rolled off a production line.
Had your audience been the mainstream it would be less transparent... but don't forget you have quite a savvy following. (myself excluded)

Thanks for the feedback guys, I have been trying to publish 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) because I was under the assumption that it took people two days to read or get around to reading and then they were on to the next piece (google analytics). However, I think that I will go back to 2 days a week (Tuesday and Thursday) which works well too because Thursday tend to be my best day online.

I like to be consistent in timing with my post and I usually have about 20 ideas in my head for posts at once (the best ones hopefully get to post) so I hope it is still all quality content and does not feel like a production line, having a schedule helps to give me timelines I need to work towards.

@Jye I will try to ask more questions, I think there is alot of gold in the comments section of this blog that often gets missed.

Short is sweet, but I do love a good meaty blog post.

Bu then again what's the statistic 80% start to read, 20% get to the end.

2 or 3 times a week is good. The blogs I follow most religiously update multiple times a day and as a result I'll check back multiple times a day.

I kinda like the video. I don't watch a lot of video on blogs, but I watch what you put up because you make it interesting for me.
